❝ BASICS. Andreas possesses the abilities of most Spider-folk, including but not limited to the ability to stick to walls, organic webbing, super-strength, super-healing, and a Spider Sense. Andreas is flexible, and can heal torn muscles due to his Muscular Dystrophy at two times the speed it takes for them to actually rip, meaning he will be fine within a few hours.❝ WEBBING. Andreas' webbing has the tensile strength of steel cable, and does not dissolve in water, fresh or salt. It traps large pockets of air, bubbles, if used correctly-- and allows him to stay underwater for long periods, staking out or battling a foe. It can also be used to bind enemies or swing through the city skyline.❝ SENSES. Andreas' Spider Sense can be used tactically and in everyday life; it only triggers when he is in genuine danger, such as being in the collision course of a car, or being shot at, or being swung at. This sense has saved him from several brushes with death, or scarring wounds. Funnily enough, it does not stop him from being frightened or startled by someone.

❝ Andreas Kealoha was born on June 24th, 2001 to mother Onika Kealoha and father Aheahe Kealoha in the city of Nuioka. He was born strong; screaming, kicking, searching for anything resembling his mother. Even as she cradles him to her chest, and he silences, hushed by the gentle touch of her hand, that attitude does not leave. It is present in everything he does from the moment he is delivered to when he opens his eyes, takes his first step, and says his first word. A little ball of sunshine and energy without bounds. His parents are proud. Andreas, their little boy. Their perfect little boy. They promise they will always be there for him. Andreas truly, wholly believes them.Andreas grew up knowing that everything was going to be okay. He knew from the start that things would just… work out. Strife was not a word within his vocabulary, nor was disappointment, as his father insisted upon spoiling him rotten at every turn. Anything he wanted, the boy would have.Much to the (fond) exasperation of his mother, who was all business and no nonsense. Despite this, the man she loved would soften her edges. One acted as impulse control, and the other allowed a sense of freedom into their home.

Two loving parents, a world full of people-- how much better could it get? A happy life for a happy little boy. Andreas is sheltered. Socialized, but unaware of the world around him. His social circle is small and his point of view even smaller. He wanders the playground that is Nuioka with the company of his mother’s beloved cat. He does everything befitting a young boy, digging up worms, building sandcastles, having fun without a care in the world. Happy as a clam.Andreas is two years old when he discovers the beach. And even younger when his parents teach him about the sea. It's love at first sight for this boy and his beloved, the water. Stumbling and staggering on land with sea legs, he too splashes through the water like a duckling, but with time becomes a beautiful, gliding swan. His world expands as he swims, going as far as his body can take him every day. This is freedom. This is joy, and he knows no bounds. His father often jokes that Andreas was born wrong. Not by any faults of God, nor of the boy. He just knows Andreas was meant to be a mermaid, singing his songs and surfing his days away. He promises that one day Andreas will know that life. Andreas doesn’t understand; he already does.Doesn’t he?

It’s a long time before he finally gets it. Andreas is freshly seventeen when he comes into his senior year of high school, sharp as a tack but still too bored of the subject matter to actually memorize it. Andreas is getting by with blind luck, and it's at eighteen years old that he graduates-- the celebratory vacation changing his life forever. Swimming in a lake, he's bitten by a radioactive spider, changing his DNA as he knows it-- becoming the mutant spider-human hybrid he is now. It's not long after this, only a year later, that his father's life is lost in a shipwreck.Andreas doesn't understand what he did wrong. With his newfound powers, he should have been able to prevent this. Right? He fully blames himself, and mourns what could have been every single day. It's then that he takes the mantle of Diving Spider, a masked man with a want to help those in need and pain.

▍ ❝   NUIOKA.
Nuioka is a tropical paradise located in the heart of Hawaii. While for the most part peaceful, it is wrought with petty crime due to tourist influence and a raise in inflation, leading to families going hungry and being unable to provide for themselves. Clean, filtered water is a privilege at times, something that many activists are attempting to fix-- but to little results. Natives to Nuioka are losing their homes, and unrest is slowly rising in the happy city.'New York' as most Spider-folk know it does not exist. Nuioka is the stand-in, due to a major shift in the multiverse (Into the Spider-verse) that caused 41084 to split off from its original host dimension. Being that 41084 is an alternate timeline, it is far behind in terms of the times; the year is currently 2024 and ongoing, but the culture is still ingrained in the early 2000s.Everyone in 41084 takes on a polaroid-esque quality of appearance. When misplaced in the wrong dimension, just for example, they become somewhat transparent, only visible when movement is made-- similar to a developing photo.

▍ ❝   ALCHEMAX.
Alchemax is a recent development in 41084. It started as a small passion project by a man named [ REDACTED INFORMATION ] in the year 2020. Focused on time-travel and interdimensional connections, the budding company would eventually succeed, conducting immoral experimentation on first its animal, then human, subjects. After being busted in 2022, Alchemax has fallen off the radar, the building allegedly abandoned-- but some speculate that deep, DEEP beneath the earth, into the recesses of the ocean below, they are still facilitating human subjectification. Diving Spider was a part of the initial takedown of the company, and now carries out his duty to be rid of the stragglers, taking it very seriously.It's through his work taking down Alchemax that he meets a strange, futuristic Spider-Man, Miguel O'Hara. The man offers him a job, a job that protects people from monsters like those at Alchemax, and Andreas begrudgingly accepts. It's then that the true multiverse opens up to him, and he is given a Gizmo, his own multiversal time-travel watch.

▍ ❝   PRESENT DAY.
Andreas is currently twenty-three years old, attending college for a bachelor's degree in music and performing arts, as well as working at a local bodega near his one-bedroom apartment, in which he lives alone with a young, excitable Jack-Russel Terrier named Dusty. He's been Diving Spider for four years and ongoing by now, and doesn't plan to stop. He has a myriad of scars to show for his work and a truckload of baggage, but he doesn't let it stop him, as resentful of his powers as he has become. He knows it would be selfish to retire, especially when he's young and still able.He's fought and rehabilitated most of, if not all of the foes he faces, too kind to kill willingly or show them his true anger. However... he has killed in cold blood before, and has conflicting feelings of guilt, and no regret of doing so. After all... he's learned that nothing is as black and white as it may seem; no one is purely good or evil, they're just people with shades of grayscale for personalities and morals.He doesn't intend to kill again. But if he must... well, he'll cross that bridge.
